WHAT IS MEDICARE?
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for:
Seniors (Ages 65+)
Individuals under 65 with certain disabilities
Individuals under 65 with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
Medicare is divided into four categories. This allows you to customize your personal coverage when shopping for a comprehensive policy.
Covers inpatient hospital care, emergency services, nursing home care, home health services and hospice. You are unlikely to pay a monthly premium for Medicare Part A if you or your spouse paid Medicare taxes while working.
Copays, coinsurance and/or deductibles may apply.
Covers medically necessary services and supplies used for diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and preventative services for illness prevention and/or early detection. Examples include ambulance services, mental health care, outpatient procedures and clinical research. Premiums are paid monthly, and copays, coinsurance and/or deductibles may apply.
Covers services offered in Medicare Parts A & B, and often Part D as well. Medicare Advantage Plans are managed by private insurance companies, and often include additional coverage for hearing/vision/dental/health and/or wellness programs. An additional monthly premium to Part B premiums usually apply.
Covers the cost of prescription drugs, and may lower the cost of other prescriptions. Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage plans are managed by Medicare-contracted private companies, and are available to all individuals with Medicare.
THE MEDISURE SPOT SERVICES
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) offers coverage for services and supplies that are considered to be medically necessary, such as doctor visits, lab tests and wheelchairs. There are several alternative plans you can choose from for additional coverage, and each plan must offer at least the same coverage as Original Medicare.
There are two Medicare plans that we can assist you with:
Medicare Advantage Plans
Also known as Part C, Medicare Advantage Plans combine Parts A and Part B for more comprehensive health care coverage than Original Medicare. These plans can be customized with additional coverage, such as a prescription drug program (Part D), vision, hearing and dental.
Medicare Supplemental Plans
Also known as Medigap, Medicare Supplemental Plans have higher premiums, but supplement the coverage gaps and deductibles that Parts A and B do not cover.
The Medisure Spot is committed to providing our clients with all possible options, and finding the right plan for your health needs and budget.
WHY DO YOU NEED MEDICARE?
Seniors are in the most need of health care, but once retired, monthly premiums can become hard to maintain. Enrolling in the Medicare program allows you to get the care you need for a minimal charge.
